AIR QUALITY MONITORING
Per the conditions set forth in the Hawaii Department of Health’s June 18, 2024 letter, Navy Closure Task Force-Red Hill (NCTF-RH) is providing notification that air emissions reporting and perimeter air quality monitoring (AQM) data posting for tank 20 will be reduced to a daily compilation of the previous day’s hourly data, effective December 9, 2025.
NCTF-RH has met the following requirements of five (5) consecutive hourly readings taken from the exhaust vent during the forced ventilation of tank 20. The total volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from tank 20 have demonstrated readings below 4.82 lbs/hr and undiluted total VOC concentrations have demonstrated readings below 15 parts per million by volume (ppmv) based on a one-hour time weighted average.
NCTF-RH will resume hourly reporting to the mobile app once positioned to begin venting the next tank.
