Groundwater Flow Webinar Hosted by Navy Closure Task Force - Red Hill

10 October 2024 Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii -- Navy Closure Task Force-Red Hill will host an informational, groundwater flow model webinar on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 5-6 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time.
The webinar will discuss the Navy’s groundwater flow model which studies the area of the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility and surrounding area. Since groundwater can be a raw source of drinking water, the Navy utilizes data from a system of groundwater monitoring wells and a combination of various models to develop a comprehensive understanding of the groundwater in the area. These efforts are closely coordinated with regulators and will help the Navy better protect Oahu’s aquifer, now and for generations to come.
