NCTF-RH Invites Public to March Open House

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii -- Navy Closure Task Force-Red Hill (NCTF-RH) invites the public to its quarterly open house on Wednesday, March 12, from 5-7 p.m. at the Keʻehi Lagoon Memorial Alfred Los Banos Hall, 2685 N. Nimitz Hwy, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96819.
The open house will focus on tank cleaning progress, current and future long-term environmental initiatives at Red Hill and the Navy’s commitment to the security of the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam drinking water distribution system.
“Over the last year, the task force has achieved significant progress in cleaning the underground storage tanks at Red Hill,” said NCTF-RH Deputy Commander Rear Adm. Marc Williams. “In addition to tank cleaning, our ongoing closure efforts include longterm environmental cleanup and remediation of the area.”
A variety of information booths and interactive displays will be available to offer a better understanding of essential topics, along with experts standing by to answer questions and share valuable insight. Attendees will learn about the Navy’s extensive water sampling programs and plans to expand the network of groundwater monitoring wells.
